A new toy arrived in the house recently. I thought i bought a bike turbo (elite crono elastogel )for winter training, what i actually bought was an instrument for self torture. I know people have said it makes you sweat a bit but i had no idea until now. After 15 minutes i had to stop on my first session to find my fan which once got used on the tread mill at its lowest setting, after 30 minutes biking on this device with the fan on full blast im still losing more fluid than niagra falls!
Readings from my garmin though made me feel a bit better - a few hundred calories burned at a time I would nt normally be able to train. As with any new toy you just want to play but today was so nice i couldnt use the turbo - so just before the sun went down i got in a quick 11 miler, on the road, just like it should be :)
Managed a slow 5 mile run this morn then to the pool for some cooling off after the sunny start we had. My knee still hurts but only when i stop, then it takes a few minutes to warm up again and i pay for it later. I really need to get some long runs in with only about 4 weeks of training till the Rutland mara.
